Well its been another little stretch of no podcasts but we end that today. We have the singer and namesake of AGAPITO the one, the only Jim Agapito. We delve into his growing up and how he got into music. Jim also had a battle with addiction and has over come that and we get into that as well. It was amazing learning about Jim's journey and its not done yet. As well as being a front person of a band he is also an acclaimed filmmaker AND has his very own podcast Recovering Filipino on CBC Radio.
Hey all. Welcome back from your holidays!!!!
On this episode we have the incredible Ron Friesen from Agapito. I took the week off last week and I am SO excited for everyone to hear my conversation with Ron.
HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to The Sorels for providing my intro music.
Next up we were pushing The Brew Banger on Jan 6,7,8 a benefit for The Park Theatre. As of right now we aren't sure if this show is happening or not because of well you know what. Check out the link and stay on top of whats happening.
Next up Winterruption here in Winnipeg has been post phoned. I am not sure when this will be happening but HOPEFULLY it will be going down in February. Check out the link to see who will hopefully be performing.
In this episode (and for the next few) I get into it with all the members of Agapito. They have a new album recorded and are dolling out singles for tasty treats for our ear balls this holiday season. Ryan has been around the scene a good long time and has gave SO much to us. It was really great learning about his musical journey and learning about all the bands he has played in and continues to play in. If you want to check out some of Ryans other musical offerings check out Union Stockyards OR check out Agassiz
On this episode we get into it with Matt from Desperate Acts. We talk about his time with Winnipeg's own Comeback Kid as well as just like every episode talk about his musical journey and how he ended up where he is now. I really love when new music just appears (kind of out of nowhere) and falls into my ear balls.
You can check out Desperate acts here: https://www.facebook.com/desperateactsmn/ (sorry the link button isn't working so just copy and paste)
Well I have finally gotten around to posting a new episode. Lazy.... Maybe but really life just got busy and the podcast had to take a bit of a back seat. Its back up and running now though BAAAABEEEEEY. Kicking it all off with Robert the drummer from The Last Gang. We talk about growing up in California, going to shows and of course start at the start and track his music journey to the present.
The Last Gang has a brand new album out called "Noise Noise Noise" you can buy it here.

Also as always a HUGE thanks to The Sorels for providing the intro music.
On this episode I have the chance to talk to the bass player and singer from Berlin's own Circus Rhapsody. We get into growing up in Germany and going to shows as well as travel back through his musical history and how Circus Rhapsody came to be. They have a brand new album out now entitled "Just Kidding" on Mannequin Vanity Records.
Hey y'all. Sorry about the lack of an episode last week but you know sometimes life gets in the way and shit happens. This weeks will make up for it I promise. On this episode I get a chance to talk to my bud Mat Perlman who has done just about everything you can imagine when it comes to working in live music. Worked the door, promoted shows, been in bands, etc etc etc. You get what I am saying!!!! Hope everyone enjoys this as much as I did.
This episode was a long long loooooong time in coming. I had the chance to sit down and talk to Clipwing's lead singer Marty. I have known Marty for a few years now and it was great to sit down and talk to him. As well as playing in about 700+ bands he is also an incredible videographer. It's been amazing watching Looksmart video continue to grow and get better and better.
This one is special to me friends. Joey is my buddy and fellow show photographer. She is dare I say a Winnipeg LEGEND!!!! You have seen her at so many show I can guarantee that. She will make it to 2, 3 or even sometimes 4 shows in a night. Maybe its at Bell MTS or a basement. Joey is the hardest working show photog in our city hands down. In this conversation we get into how Joey got into taking photos and what keeps her drive alive to keep doing this very often thankless job (my words not hers)
Also a huge thank you to our pals in THE SORELS for providing us with our intro music. They have a new EP / 7" out. Make sure you snap that up or if you aren't into vinyl just click on the link and buy it digitally!
