When years of telling the truth were getting me nowhere, I embarked on an experiment. Would a white sounding name translate into better therapy sessions. Spoiler alert, they did, until they didn’t. With nowhere to turn now, I have decided that lying to get better mental health care can’t be good for me but unfortunately neither is telling the truth.
