Such an insightful discussion with Matt Williams the Managing Director at Telstra in EMEA on their latest research "Agility in the new Digital Normal" . We discussed which countries and industries are leading with digital transformation and how APAC, Europe, and the US compare. We also had a good discussion on leadership styles and how they affect agility and how Matt is leading differently today. One observation Matt makes is that those that acted on digital transformation before 2020 (including security) now have a distinct market advantage. Alex Edney is a leader at World Vision Australia, a competitive cyclist and a dedicated family man. Alex and I met on the road during a cycling event and got to know each other better through a shared passion for solving mental health issues through the Knights of Suburbia Cycling Group and the Love Me, Love You Foundation led by our good friend Lance Picioane. In this podcast, Alex and I discuss the challenges of leadership in 2021 after the pandemic year of 2020 in Australia. Stinus Kaempe took up cycling relatively late after competing in sailing and other sports. He got a bike gifted to him for doing a neighbours household chores a few years ago, won a number of local events, finished 10th in the 2021 Nationals at Ballarat and this week was the first to finish the gruelling 3 Peaks event of 235km and 4,500 metres of climbing in the Victorian Alpine area. Coached by The Hurt Box's David "Steggles" Sturt Stinus is now off overseas to compete with a Danish cycling team in Europe. We discuss, steep learning curves, resilience, being coachable, using data to your advantage and the power of living on the other side of yes! Nic Douglass is a three time World sailing champion and eight time Australian sailing Champion who turned her chosen sport into a professional career as a sailing commentator and communications expert focused on the yachting and sailing space.
