The ordeal at the origins of Juneteenth is real - there was some two-plus year delay for the emancipation of slaves in Galveston, Texas. Certainly, that was a travesty for those affected Black men, women and children. Fast forward to 2024, and information, even if it’s fake or half truth, is readily available for the majority of Americans. So what’s the excuse for falling behind year after year after year after year. Every damn body’s talking - but who is truly listening?
