Shattered but Unbroken

It’s been challenged to navigate to Thailand with vision loss

Listen Later

Traveling to Thailand has been one of the most meaningful challenges of

my life. The heat, the unfamiliar surroundings, and the constant need to

adapt made everything feel intense at first. I quickly realized how much

I had to learn — not just about a new country, but about myself.

This is my first time navigating Thailand with vision loss, and every

step has been a test of patience, courage, and resilience. Sometimes I

struggled to keep up. Sometimes it felt overwhelming. But I kept moving

forward because learning to navigate life — whether living here or

visiting — requires facing discomfort and uncertainty.

Despite the difficulties, Thailand has been an incredibly beautiful

experience. The food is amazing, the people are kind, and the country

itself feels welcoming and vibrant. Traveling without eyesight can be

painful and exhausting, but it has also shown me how much joy can still

be found in new places, new flavors, and human connection.

Most of all, this journey has reminded me that challenges and beauty can

exist at the same time. Even when things are hard, there is still so

much to appreciate.

Thank you for listening, and thank you to everyone who has shown

kindness along the way.
