One of the main reasons why people do not change their minds on important issues is Confirmation Bias. What does this mean? To this group, facts do not matter. They formulate their opinions and worldviews by reading and listening to sources that confirm their way of thinking. They are biased toward their own circle of influencers and reject any fact or truth that does not line up with the thinking of the group they are a part of. This is known as The Bandwagon Effect or Herd Mentality—the overriding and rejecting of personal beliefs in order to be accepted in a group.
