Today’s gospel lesson from Luke 8 tells about a time when Jesus healed a demon possessed man. The man was possessed by so many demons, they collectively called themselves Legion. We’re told about the demons being cast out of the man and then being allowed to enter a herd of pigs. Then the pigs drown themselves. We can get caught up in trying to figure out the significance of the pigs in the story. We can get stuck on why the pigs and why did they drown themselves. But it’s not about the pigs…
