It’s not a far stretch to say that 1994’s The Crow is one of the best comic book movies of the 1990’s and perhaps one of the best non-DC or Marvel comic book films of all time. So of course Hollywood wouldn’t let this cinematic success go unpunished…and by that, we mean being dragged through the bad script swamp, weighed down and low budget and left to drown in studio notes. Still, we’re going to try and prove to you that The Crow: City Of Angels is not that bad.

It’s no surprise that Disney has a habit of updating and redoing classic films from their back catalog. Whether the end result is good or not remains to be seen. However, we’re going to pop some Benadryl and do our best not to swear as we try to tell you that 1997’s That Darn Cat is not that bad.

Live action movies based on animated series can be a tough challenge. Now imagine taking an animated series that initially appeared on MTV’s Liquid Television, a series that made you seriously wonder how good the drugs were back in the early 90’s, give it to a director with one film under her belt, add in a heaping pile of studio interference, and watch the degree of difficulty rise. Time to dive in and see if 2005’s Aeon Flux is not that bad.

In the 90’s, Tomb Raider made waves in the video game world. Posters of Lara Croft adorned the walls of many a teenage boy…and it wasn’t for the gameplay. Naturally, Hollywood can’t say no to an obvious cash cow, and what better way to do that than cast someone known for wearing their lover’s blood around their neck. Odd? Maybe, but so is real life. When it comes to the movies, though, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is not that bad.

Practical effects are always the best effects. They're real...they're tangible...and when done right, they can turn someone into something magical and otherworldly. When done wrong...well, that's another story. Lyle Robichaud makes his first KWP appearance to drop his picks from movies that turn the real into the surreal with the art of prosthetics.

Since exploding onto the scene, the Foo Fighters have found themselves everywhere. Grammy awards, playing Wembley Stadium, headlining festivals, their music played everywhere…they have done it all. So, what better way to celebrate than with an over 90 minute blood and guts, over the top horror film? Excessive? Maybe…but that’s rock and roll, and in the case of Studio 666, it’s not that bad.
