In any major motion picture, a museum is a cesspool of violence and horrors come to life, a mecca of death and dismemberment. Maybe think twice when that field trip permission slip comes home. Luckily, you don’t have to think twice about The Relic, because it’s not that bad.

In Hollywood, when trying to replicate the effects of a breakout hit, all you need is money, a script and actors willing to jump in even if they weren’t in the original. The episode’s film may not be a lightning rod of awesome, but we’re going to do our best to prove to you that Son Of The Mask is not that bad.

Movies based on popular characters can go one of two ways. The first is that the property is treated like crap, the end result is horrible and critics crap all over it. The other way is that a great movie is made, satisfying fans all over the world and raking in lots of money…and the critics crap all over it. This is definitely a category 2 situation, but it’s okay because The Super Mario Brothers Movie is not that bad.
