This week on It's On Random, we sat down to discuss the 1988 cult classic (of course) 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'. The Robert Zemeckis 1988 half animated-half live action film starring Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Charles Fleischer, Stubby Kaye and Joanna Cassidy is set in a world where cartoons and real life exist together, and is about a cartoon rabbit who gets framed for murder and has to prove his innocence.
This film is iconic for Vinny. Having grown up watching it to the point she can't even remember the first time, finding out what Paige thinks after watching it for the first time is what she's been waiting for all week!! But did Paige enjoy it? And is it as good as Vinny remembers from her childhood now watching it with a critical mind?

New episode weekly! (We promise - apologies for being fortnightly recently).
THIS WEEK on It's On Random, we discuss the 1995 coming-of-age film 'Empire Records'. Starring Liv Tyler, Antony LaPaglia, Maxwell Caulfield, Debi Mazar, Rory Cochrane, Johnny Whitworth, Robin Tunney and Renée Zellweger, this film is about a group of record store employees during a particularly eventful day: Rex Manning Day - which happens to fall on the same day the employees find out the store is due to be sold to a chain and try to put a stop to it.
Co-hosts Paige and Vinny sat down to discuss this box office flop turn cult hit, which they had both seen only once years prior. Spotting similarities to The Breakfast Club, this teen-dramedy has an exceptional young cast, and an even more exceptional soundtrack. But how does it stand up against other coming-of-age movies?

This week on It's on Random, join us as we sit down and discuss the 1991 classic Hook! Starring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Bob Hoskins, Julia Roberts, Maggie Smith, this twist of the signature Peter Pan tale is beloved by many - but also disliked among many, including director himself Steven Spielberg. Peter Pan has left Neverland and grown up, becoming the exact thing he would've hated - a boring workaholic with no imagination or fun - and no memory of Neverland. However, when Captain Hook kidnaps his children, he returns to Neverland and must embrace his inner child in order to save his children.
Co-host Paige had previously never seen this film - and it being a film that Vinny grew up watching and enjoying - tensions were high to find out what they each rated it out of 10. We also discuss some interesting behind the scenes facts and trivia you may have missed if you have seen this magical classic, so join us!

This week on It's on Random, we watched The Goonies! This 1985 classic about a bunch of kids following a treasure map in order to have one final adventure before their homes get destroyed, all whilst in pursuit of a family of criminals, this film is quite possibly THE cult film. Starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Jonathan Ke Huy Quan, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton, John Matuszak, Anne Ramsey, Robert Davi and Joe Pantoliano (damn that's a big cast), this film is widely considered one of the most iconic and successful cult classics to grace the screen. But how do hosts Vinny and Paige rank it among their list?
Co-host Paige had never seen this film before, and Vinny hadn't seen it since teenage years. How does it hold up today? Especially when looking at it through the eyes of an adult? Join us as we chat through the film in chronological order, picking apart the plot and ranking it out of 10!

This week on It's on Random, we sat down and attempted to have a chat about the 1997 cult classic 'The Fifth Element'. Starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Chris Tucker, this '90s film left us speechless - but for the right reasons? Following Willis and Jovovich as Korben Dallas and Leeloo, as they attempt to track down four stones in order to save the universe from evil, the film is brilliant example of the creativity around filmmaking. An original take with references to the past and it's footprint seen on sci-fi films since, it's no wonder this film is considered a cult classic - but what do the co-hosts think?
This was a first time watch for the both Vinny and Paige, with absolute no knowledge on what to expect. So come along with us as we talk through this '90s phenomenon - picking out the bits we liked and the bits we struggled watching.

This week on It's on Random, we sat down and chatted all about the 1989 cult classic 'Heathers'. Starring Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty, Lisanne Falk, Kim Walker and Penelope Milford, this '80s dark comedy has an extremely popular following - despite being a box office flop! A film about two teens who end up killing the popular kids at their school, it's definitely not for everyone. However, we delve deeper below the surface in our discussion. We talk through the film, pick out our favourite moments met with some behind-the-scenes facts.
One of co-hosts Paige's favourite films, find out how Vinny rates it as her first ever viewing!
This week on It's on Random, we discuss the 1986 classic 'Labyrinth'. Starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly, this fantasy film about a girl that has to complete a mystical maze in order to rescue her little brother from the goblins is a classic to us - but is it a classic to you? We discuss our favourite and least favourite moments, as well as some interesting facts about the movie and how it was a massive flop at the time - but has since developed a large audience of loving fans.
This is a personal favourite for both of us, so we had to do it. And we couldn't wait. So join us as we chat about the 1986 classic 'Labyrinth'.

To the Cult Classic film podcast: It's on Random.
This week, we discuss the 2004 Edgar Wright classic 'Shaun of the Dead'. Starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Dylan Moran, Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton, this horror comedy about the zombie apocalypse is a perfect summary of a cult classic film - and also where we got our name from! The first of the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy - and possibly the most popular - there is no better place to begin.
