National Security Advisor John Bolton issued a sobering warning yesterday:  It’s not just Vladimir Putin’s Kremlin that is trying to influence our elections.  So are Communist China, Little Rocket Man’s North Korea and Sharia-supremacist Iran.

Since President Donald Trump has been imposing increasingly harsh economic sanctions, tariffs and/or other penalties on each of these regimes, it stands to reason that the beneficiaries of their influence operations will be his domestic political opponents. 

The question occurs: Should we expect investigations next year of hostile powers’ collusion with Democrats to advance the President’s impeachment?  Don’t hold your breath.

In the meantime, one thing is clear: We need to be putting such foreign powers on notice: Their continued interference in America’s democratic process will only heighten our determination to counter them, at home as well as abroad, using our own influence operations, among other tradecraft.
