This week on It's So Bad, we're adding the game that launched one of the biggest franchises in video games, Castlevania, to the Endless List. You are Simon Belmont on a mission to destroy all the creatures of the night on your way to defeating Dracula. The Nintendo Entertainment System action platformer with slow and deliberate pacing introduced the world to a whip toting vampire hunter family and their evil nemeses. This week on It's So Bad we add one of the most important RPGs to the Endless List of Games in Dragon Warrior. Also known as Dragon Quest, the game helped launch RPGs in Japan and created the subgenre called JRPGs. The turn-based battle system, character art done by Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball, a unique story for a mid-1980s release added up to a highly important release in the history of the Famicom and video games in general. The hack and slash game was one of the first notable releases on the fledgling PlayStation 2 platform.
