Set purpose driven goals. Create clear actionable goals that align with your divine purpose. Follow these steps: 

• Define your short-term and long-term goals.

• Break them down into smaller, manageable tasks.

• Set deadlines and milestones to track your progress. 

Develop a strategic plan. Outline a plan to achieve your goals and make an impact. Consider:

• What resources and support do I need?

• How will I measure success?

• Who can I partner with to amplify my impact?

Overcoming Obstacles. Address common challenges and find solutions. Think about: 

• What potential obstacles might I face?

• How can I prepare for and overcome these challenges?

• What strategies can I use to stay motivated and focused?

  How would you feel if you could absolutely know your divine purpose? To know why you were born and why you’ve had certain experiences gives clarity to life, love, relationships and especially to your value as a human.

Are you wealthy? What does it mean to be wealthy? If you are wealthy, you have an abundance of material possessions or resources, or an ample quantity. Each person defines wealth in dollar amounts to many different degrees of satisfaction. 

Besides money, people are considered wealthy due to assets like good health, strong relationships, time freedom, personal purpose and self-investment in skills and education. 

So how do we manifest wealth in one or all of these areas of life? Let's take “Time” for instance. I would say that if I am too busy, running ragged and don’t have time to rest, relax and enjoy life, I am very poor. Rather, the ability to choose how to spend my time is considered priceless (or with great wealth).

How do I go from poor to wealthy with the resources of time? I can tell you because I have done just that. Right now I have an abundance of time to choose how to spend it. However, most of my life I was too busy and running ragged. How did I manifest an abundance of time? 

Here are three steps to help you manifest wealth in time: 

1. I assessed what I was currently spending time on.

2. If what I was spending time on no longer brought me joy, I resigned from it.

3. I planned what I wanted to do with my time that would bring me joy.

The hardest part was resigning from things that no longer brought me joy because I felt I was losing part of my identity. I had hit such a level of burn out, I resigned from the board of the Salvation Army, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, being the speaker at the Christian Women’s Club, being President of the Council of Catholic Women, Teaching Sunday School, a secondary business called Gallery On The Go and ultimately my full time job. 

I don’t recommend this to anyone, unless you are in a position of being debt free and can monetarily afford to. I was fortunate enough to be debt free and my husband was still bringing in an income. That being said, it took a while to get used to this new found time freedom. I had to relearn what it was that I liked to do, what I was good at, what I could get paid to do and what the world needed. I found myself swimming in a time wealth pool, and boy was it medicine to my soul.

As you can imagine, personally I was wealthy in time, and poor in money. So I had to ask myself, how do I manifest wealth in money? I wanted to be true to myself, my talents and to God and I didn’t want to lose the time freedom I had earned. I went in search of an opportunity that could provide all my wants and needs but not put me back in a situation that left me no time. 

SinceI had done a deep dive of my inner strengths, wants and desires, I was able to clearly define what I wanted, but discerning the opportunities was tough.

Here are three steps to help you manifest wealth in money: 

1: Discern whether an opportunity is right for you or not.

2: Be willing to take a certain amount of calculated risk.

3. Have faith and courage to step outside your comfort zone.

Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see. And courage is the mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, withstand danger, fear or difficulty. First comes faith, then comes courage, then comes wealth.

Have you ever opened a brand new blank white canvas with excitement to paint and then froze? Staring at that canvas as if you weren’t supposed to make a mark on it? I have too. It is such a feeling of frustration, knowing you want to paint something beautiful and yet that blank white canvas illudes you. 

I have found a solution to this daunting blank canvas, and it may surprise you. The hardest thing about a blank canvas is thinking the end result has to be perfect. This is what causes the freeze to begin with. There is a certain amount of fear that no matter what you do next, it just won’t be perfect, stopping you in your tracks from taking the first step. 

The solution is to grab a black sharpie marker to get the ugly out. You do this by what I call mark making. Mark making is simply taking your sharpie marker and drawing random lines, squiggles and boxes all over your blank white canvas. I even go as far as coloring in an area completely black. The great thing about this step is that it automatically gives the painting depth of value by applying the darkest color. It also gets rid of the fear of ruining the canvas and lets you start moving forward to a beautiful masterpiece.

Once you’ve laid the ground work with your black sharpie marker, you are ready to start the layering process of neutrals. I am a big fan of acrylic paint because it makes layering so quick and easy. It is very forgiving of mistakes because you can simply paint over mistakes with ease.

The layering process starts with a values study.  If you are working with a reference photo, squinting your eyes is helpful to see all the shades of grey in the image. You may want to mix just three values of grey and start with. The key is to make sure all the values are slightly different from each other.  The way you can tell if you have done a good job in your value study is by taking a black and white photo of your canvas. This reveals the depth of layers you’ve achieved. If your painting looks flat, then go back in and rework some of the greys, or perhaps go down to just three grey tones.

Lastly, it’s time to add color. This too is a layering process using the color wheel. Let’s say you are going to paint three stacked pumpkins. One pumpkin is orange. One pumpkin is yellow, and one pumpkin is green. Instead of painting the pumpkins their true color right away, take the color wheel and find the complimentary color. For example, the complimentary color of orange is teal. The complimentary color of yellow is violet and the complimentary color of green is red.

Even though you are going to want to paint the pumpkins their true color, instead first paint them their complimentary color. This puts a layer of paint down that when you paint over it and leave a little here and there it creates a beautiful harmonized dimension you would not otherwise achieve. It makes the painting rich with both depth and color.

Finally, it’s time to put the finishing touches on the painting. Paint the true colors of the pumpkins on top of their complimentary colors. Paint orange on top of teal (leaving a little peek-a-boo of teal). Paint yellow on top of the violet and green over the top of red. Then, go back to your complimentary colors and do some random mark making on top of the true colors. Such as a partial line running down the crease of the pumpkin. 

Now stop and take a few steps backward to look at your painting from a different perspective and look at how beautiful your painting is just because you learned how to activate the canvas! I’m proud of you. 

Here are three steps to help you activate your canvas: 

Step 1: Grab a black sharpie marker and mark up your canvas with lines, squiggles and boxes.

Step 2: Do a value study using three to six grey values and take a black and white photo of the canvas to make sure you have values from very light to very dark.

Step 3: Paint complimentary colors first and layer true colors on top to create depth and beauty.

Hey Artists! It’s Kristi here, and today I’m going to teach you how to start an art business.

I’m so excited about this topic because there is so much I can teach you. If you're like me, when people used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would tell them I wanted to be an artist. And so it was. Drawing and painting is what I’m good at. It is something that I have a unique God-given gift and talent for. Ever since I was young, if I had spare time, I wanted to be drawing and painting. How about you? Have you dreamed of having an art business, where you could do work you loved and get paid well to do it?

Then you came to the right place. There are three things needed in order to have a thriving art business. First, what is something you love to do? Second, what are you great at? And third, is it something that people are willing to pay for? 

A lot of artists are confused about what it means to be a paid artist, so let’s start with the definition of artist: a person who creates art (such as painting, sculpture, music or writing) using conscious skill and creative imagination. 

Let’s say an artist loves to draw and paint, just for the sake of creating. But if this artist is not good at it, or does not desire to get paid for it then there is no reason to start an art business. One simple way to clarify what you are good at is to ask 3-5 family members or friends what they think you're great at. You may be surprised at their insight.

Now let’s say an artist loves to draw and paint, and is really good at it, but does not desire to get paid for it. Still there is no reason to start an art business because the third element is missing from the equation. 

Lastly, let’s say an artist loves to draw and paint, is really good at it and desires to get paid well for it. This is the scenario of an artist who should start an art business. The key factor in any art business is the desire to solve a problem for a paying customer. It’s the desire to excel at your craft and make something that others want to buy. This takes a little humility and a ton of compassion and empathy. Create something and then ask others what they would be willing to pay for it, or research others who are already selling a similar item.

I was fortunate enough to have gone to a commercial art school, got my first job as a graphic artist and at the age of 26 I started my own art business called Art-N-Sign. We helped people starting a business to get noticed with a sign. We created everything from logos, to signs, to vehicle graphics. I was doing something that I loved and was great at and got paid well to do it. 

What type of an art business do you want to start? There are so many different options available, but let’s say you want to start an art business where you sell paintings. First, we know you love to draw and paint. Perfect. Second, are you good at it? Have you developed your style of painting? Great! What product or service will people pay you for?

Here are three steps to help you start an art business: 

Step 1: Decide what it is you love to do. What is something you would love to jump out of bed and keep pursuing day after day?

Step 2: What are you great at? What is something that you get complimented on? Don’t just shrug it off, take it seriously. It may be natural to you, but others marvel at your ability. What is it? 

Step 3: What are people willing to pay you for? Is your product or service excellent? What problem are you solving? Who is your ideal audience?

As for me and my business, we will serve the Lord! There's just no better feeling than the peace and contentment that comes from understanding that no matter what happens, good or bad, Jesus knows what to do. I don’t have be stressed, instead I can:

Be content.

Be joyful.

Be joy filled.

Be kind.

Be loving.

It’s fascinating how a single incident like a motorcycle crash can bring such clarity to life. Clarity on how to take hold of this moment and cherish it forever. In the past I simply did too many things at one time and didn’t enjoy many of them because by the time I was experiencing one moment, I was already planning for the next and didn’t really take hold of the present moment I was in. I mean, I wasn’t fully present at that moment. 

So this is your encouragement to be present in each moment. Do one thing at a time. Do an inventory and make some hard decisions to cut out activities that are just fillers. There is a lack of love and understanding in the world today because there is a lack of presence. In order for me to be grateful, bold and present, I need to abide in the presence of God. By being in His presence first then I can:

Be grateful.

Be present.

Be bold.

Be blessed.

Be content.

Be joyful.

Be joy filled.

Be kind.

Be loving.

Be compassionate.

Be helpful.

Be faithful.

Be grateful.

Be calm.

Be considerate.

Be patient.

Be excited.

Be passionate.

Be happy.

Be you.

I bet you're intrigued by this week's title called “I Should Be Dead - Now What?” Well, right now I literally should be dead. You see, one week ago today, I crashed my 2016 Harley Davidson Softail Slim motorcycle into the ditch off Highway 78. I was not wearing a helmet. It’s a story everyone warned me would happen.  Well it happened and I should be dead, but instead I’m here to tell you the story, and what I learned from this deadly experience.

Let me just say, God is SO good! After getting several scans and x-rays I was told I had 3 fractured ribs, a fractured C-2 vertebrae in my neck (otherwise known as the hangman's fracture) and a partially collapsed lung. They said I should be dead. The C-2 fracture is known as the hangman's fracture because it occurs when your head is forcefully snapped back and up. This is a hyperextension injury, meaning that my neck was extended beyond its normal range of motion, likened to a judicial hanging. So I am very blessed to be able to be here recording another podcast. So much so that I can’t help but ask “Now what?” I mean this was such a miraculous event I just lived through, that I can’t help but ask God, “Now what can I do for You since I’ve been given another chance to live?”  I believe His simple response is “Live into and be who I created you to be.” In other words, if I didn’t worry about time, money or relationships who would I be? And if I used all the resources available to me, how could I impact the world around me? 

Here are three answers to the question “Now What?”

Answer 1 - Love God I will love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my mind. 

Answer  2 - Love Myself Jesus suggests that I should love myself so I will love myself.

Answer 3 - Love My Neighbor I will love my neighbor as myself". 

Jesus says that this triple commandment is God's greatest revelation of how I should act, and that everything else hangs upon it. So the way I look at it, is I’ve been given a second chance, a do over or a mulligan. This is the way Jesus taught me to impact the world. To first love God with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my mind. To love myself with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my mind. And it is only after graciously doing these two things can I then love you as I love myself. 

Well I hope you enjoyed this episode on “I should be dead. Now what?” I couldn’t be more on fire for Jesus than I am right now. He is the only Way. He is the absolute Truth. He is the Light in the darkness. There is so much I want you to know.  I want you to know how deep and how wide and and how tall is the love of God for you. I know because even though we are all sinners, He sent His only Son Jesus to pay the ransom for our sins by dying on a cross so we can live forever with Him in eternal life, if only we believe. Now that is some radical love that I want to keep spreading. I’m here to tell you:

You are loved.

You are worthy.

You are cherished.

You are appreciated.

You are respected.

You are special.

You are unique.

You are one-of-a-kind.

You are made on purpose.

You are made to love.

You are made to be loved.

You are love.

You equal love.

Be loved. 

Beloved.

 Once you truly understand this, discovering a life of meaning, purpose and fulfillment will come from the inside out. The love, the knowing, the acceptance, the being, just being you is the key to creating an impact. There is no other you. Go 100% all in. Be the beautiful you God created you to be. God is counting on you!

Learning about how to pivot to an online business is incredibly valuable in both time and money. I know learning new things can be hard and challenging, but I believe you can do it. Trust me, if I can do it, you can do it too. Give yourself permission to enjoy a life you love by creating income just by using different tools than you’re used to. Yes, it has a steep learning curve, but if you love to learn then you’ll love pivoting to an online business.

Once you dive in and just do it messy, you’ll gain confidence that the next time will be even better. Don’t expect perfection or even try to make TV quality videos. Just be who God created you to be and you will be up and running. I know you have what it takes to make this a reality in your life.

You are smart.

You are enough.

You are worthy.

You can do this.

You belong here.

You are amazing.
