After traveling and living all around the country for some years, Jared came three years ago to the South Toe River Valley where, ensconced in forest, he has lived happily since. Here he participates in local food chains, helping out on a farm and taking advantage of nearby natural abundance - particularly mushrooms! With educational backgrounds in psychology and permaculture, he has come to understand both the power and necessity of community. Towards this end he develops and promotes Beacon to his local community, the larger Asheville area, and beyond!
