Named after a daytime soap opera character of the day by a flamboyant negro Nurse's Aide in the maturity ward Pamela grew up in the era of what was considered "middle class black" if your parents were educated and worked in a professional environment. Pamela is happily married to the love of her life for almost 30 years, Billy Harper, the mother of a son, Pamma to a daughter and Gamma to a "Baby King'', 3-year-old Josiah

Billy is a certified Catastrophe Insurance Claims Adjuster and a Claims Examiner for a government agency. Every day he is a husband, a father of two, a PaPa to one and tomorrow he will be a retiree at 100% of his projected retirement financial goals.

Charles, born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. Married for 35 years with four adult children and two grand-kids. Living in Atlanta, GA since 1985 initially working at Southern Technical College and for the last 32 years working with the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks.

James was born in Chattanooga TN. He graduated from Riverside High School and graduated from Tennessee State University and finished up his MBA at Strayer University. James moved to Atlanta in 1983 and has been married to Pamela Sands for 36 years. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.

As  jazz pianist and producer Donald was with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers from 1981 to 1982, then took teaching positions at Berklee College of Music from 1983 to 1985 and the University of Tennessee from 1988. He has recorded for Evidence, Muse, and Sunnyside. 

Donald resides in Knoxville, Tennessee and is an associate professor at the University of Tennessee where he currently teaches piano, improvisation, and jazz history. He maintains an active performance and touring schedule.

As a youngster Lu's goal was to be an uninhibited singer using a mix of jazz, blues, and gospel to create music with the message of soulful, spiritual healing.

This musical odyssey did not take the expected route, however. Instead, his trek detoured with a 35-year stint in the US armed forces. Lu’s years in the military taught him the very important lessons of discipline, order, method and ultimately, belief in himself. Lu retired from the Army with the rank of full Colonel allowing his full immersion into the music that has been the backing track to his existence since childhood.

 Robb has enjoyed a career of writing, producing and connecting… and he continues to help develop non-profits in literacy, sports history, prostate cancer awareness and his local Search and Rescue.

Robb knows we can easily create a variety of legacies and their stories Now, while we’re young. His information is for anyone who has asked: Will I make a difference? Are my stories worth telling? Do I want to leave a mark, and enjoy it now? And do I want my (our) descendants a hundred years from now to hear our stories? Won’t that make them happy to know whose blood flows in them?

In his book Enjoy Greater Results with Less Effort: Build a Better You, Bud talks about the ten bedrock truths. He talks about how through challenging times such as death of a loved one and a pandemic these bedrock truths have left him with few regrets as he walks through life. He shares his own life experiences and shares with us what went well and what he could’ve done better.

Bud writes, “Change is neither good nor bad, but how we embrace it and grow from it will determine how it impacts our lives.”

Kami Qualls grew up here in San Diego. She is a single mom of two awesome kids. Her 14 year old son, Noah, has a rare chromosome disorder that has led her on an adventure in special needs parenting. And her 10 year old daughter, Annabelle, adds much needed imagination and sass to their family. Kami is also a teacher with credentials in both general education and special education. She currently teaches 7th grade math and science at a small urban charter school in National City.
