Teri Sue Parker began her career of community service in Lincoln City Oregon, where she raised two daughters, and hosted a local TV show, Wake Up Lincoln City. Her messages on the show combined with her community service, resulted in becoming nominate for woman of the year. Then in 1977 becoming, Mrs. Lincoln City, Mrs. Physical Fitness, Mrs. Congeniality, and Mrs. Community Service… Now after marrying her husband Dr. Bruce Parker and moving to Temecula, she yearned to find her place in community service, and she certainly has.  

When COVID began to close down the city, her first concern was, seniors… After seeing the long lines in the grocery, she thought, how are seniors that are at risk and cannot leave their home, going to eat?
 
Being a woman of action, that day she made a sign and planted it in her front yard. “Operation Temecula Food Drive” and put a big box in front of it. After reaching out to local business, she her first donation, from a loving Chamber member; OTFD was born. Since, she has fed hundreds of isolated seniors, cancer patients, wounded veterans, and families at risk. Her service was noticed by California Assembly member of the 75th district Marie Walden, who recognized her as being a COVID-19 Community hero. Now OTFD has officially become a non-profit organization, “Good Samaritan Community Food Pantry. Besides serving the isolated seniors, and families at risk, she wanted them to have a wonderful holiday and following her message, Live, Love, Give… She launched a very successful adopt a senior, and family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. And brought much needed love to the Temecula Valley.  

Dr. Bruce Parker's background features 43 years of consistent excellence in highly visible, responsible roles.  He developed a small chain of 13 Chiropractic Clinics. And then began teaching other chiropractors how to develop their own clinics following the procedures he developed to maintain his own clinics.

Dr Bruce retired from practice in 2010, and since then has authored three books. His Book the Turnaround became a #1 Best seller on amazon for business. He is very active with the Good Samaritan Food pantry, whether being involved with food deliveries or maintaining the corporate books of this 501c3 non-profit organization.

Robin S. Thorne has made outstanding achievements in her profession since receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University in 1997.  She began her career as an Associate Foam Manufacturing Engineer in Pennsylvania, she transferred to California to oversee the full-scale production of polyurethane foam machine and was given the opportunity to advance in her career and assume the responsibilities of the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. 

In 2009, Robin established CTI Environmental, Inc., (CTI) an environmental construction and safety consulting firm and serves as CTI’s Chief Executive Officer.  Robin and her team have been awarded contracts by Southern California Edison, California State University, Walsh-Shea Constructors, Kiewit Pacific, Legal Aid Foundation, International City Bank. In 2018, CTI began to compete in the federal market having been awarded a project with the Bureau of Prisons, the Department of Forestry, and the FAA.   In 2017, CTI launched their Construction Management Division providing services on the OCTA I-405 Widening project.  

In addition to the advancements that Robin has made in her career, she has been actively involved in numerous community service projects.  She served as Chair of the Sustainable City Commission of Long Beach, President of the American Society of Safety Engineers, board member of both the YMCA Community Development Branch and Soroptimist International of Long Beach.  Robin enjoys reaching out to women in need and has organized and coordinated programs to help less fortunate families, shelter residents, and needy seniors. Robin’s most recent project is a presentation highlighting the accomplishments of minorities in engineering.  This program is ideal for students at any level.  Robin recently launched an initiative called ‘DemoChicks’ introducing young girls to the fields of engineering and construction and empowering and uplifting those who are currently in the fields.  DemoChicks currently provides virtual workshops for students in k-12 walking them through science experiments online.  

Robin has received numerous accolades over the years and is most proud of her induction into the Drexel University College of Engineering’s Circle of Distinction.   It is the highest honor the college bestows upon alumni who have made significant contributions to the field of engineering and who have shown exemplary support for the College of Engineering and the University. Over the years, they each have forged a path of accomplishment that serves as an inspiration for all of us but particularly for our students, the individuals who will be the future problem solvers in our increasingly complex world.

Robin feels truly blessed that she has been able to accomplish so many things in her life and plans to continue looking for opportunities to grow, improve and serve others in her community.
