Fan Anticipation and Movie Review Aggregator Sites
Monica is excited for Haley Bailey, who stars in the upcoming movie âThe Little Mermaidâ and âThe Color Purpleâ. She doesnât care about the Rotten Tomatoes ratings. She has been a diehard fan of Haley Bailey and her sister since their YouTube channel and radio contest.Â
Sean agrees that Rotten Tomatoes shouldnât be used as a Bible for film ratings but as a tool. Heâs encouraged by âThe Little Mermaidâ reviews, as theyâre better than expected, hovering between the high 60s and low 70s. He likes Haleyâs spin on the music and is willing to give the movie a chance, as the live-action remakes can bring something new to the table, like âThe Jungle Book.â
Pros and Cons of Live-Action Remakes
Monica expresses her ambivalence towards Disneyâs live-action remakes, citing the Dumbo remake by Tim Burton as an example of how a director may not be able to tell the full story they want to due to Disneyâs creative control. Although she tries to keep an open mind, she canât help but be reminded of the Dumbo remake and how it fell short of expectations.
The Transient Nature of Television
Sean discusses the common take that thereâs too much TV now, leading to shows being a âflash in the panâ and disappearing quickly. However, heâs excited that one of these shows, âThe Bear,â is returning for a second season.
Monica loves the show because itâs so good and relatable, painting a realistic picture of the stress and challenges of working in food service. The characters and their dynamic resonate with her experiences, making it a captivating and intense viewing experience.
Remembering the Legendary Tina Turner
Monica shares the sad news of Tina Turnerâs passing at 83, a rock legend known as the Queen of Rock nâ Roll. Monica highlights Turnerâs illustrious career and numerous accolades, noting how she inspired many throughout her life.Â
Independent Films and Upcoming Releases
Monica shares her excitement for the upcoming release of âInto the Spider-Verseâ and âElementalâ and encourages others to support original films. She implores people to watch âBlackened Eggâ when itâs released in theatres, as she is excited about that movie.
