Heeeeey, I'm not dead, after all.

So, after getting back in contact with the lovely-and-talented Shane Strife – yes, THE Shane Strife (https://soundcloud.com/shanestrife) – I felt inspired to work on a piece of music we'd teamed up on. I made an F-Zero Climax-style remix of "Death Wind" from the original F-Zero.

And, yes… it was for an Edit Course.

Sometimes, I even surprise MYSELF, with how spontaneous I am.

Did this out in about four hours, in FamiTracker, last night.

I always liked this song, but I'm not sure why I decided to make an NES version of it. I think it sounds pretty good, though it could be better... It's also the second NES-style song that I've made which uses DPCM samples (two, to be precise). Unlike that Lotus 3 song, though, these samples were actually rendered down in FamiTracker and made, ya know, teeny-tiny. The NSF weighs in around 10 KB (as opposed to 8 KB).

You know, I've heard a lot of Metalman remixes… but, it seems like only Capcom knows how to keep the feeling of the original song intact.

Hopefully, I did the same, with this Memory Mapper Control 5 arrangement/extension/remix thingy.

I dunno. I was bored and wanted to do something in FamiTracker.

This took way longer than it should have.

The Dwarf Mine theme from Simon the Sorcerer is but one of many very, very beautiful pieces of music in the game. However, this one really stands out for me because it SEEMS as though it's what became of the unique theme song used exclusively in the MS-DOS playable demo of the game.

Either way, I hope I did the song justice. It's a really great piece.

This is a tune I've been wanting to do for a while now... except that I didn't REALIZE I'd wanted to do it until recently. Kind of odd how things work out like that, I suppose.

I just hope I did the tune justice.

Before there was Gears of War… before Unreal Tournament, Tyrian, and even Jazz Jackrabbit… there was a game. About a boy. Trapped in an imaginary world that even he didn't know existed.

Strangely enough, this was actually Cliffy B.'s SECOND game. The first was "The Palace of Deceit: The Dragon's Plight" (which was a retooling of the old MS-DOS game, "The Palace of Deceit: The Secret of Castle Lockemoer).

Speaking of retooling, this is a complete retooling of my old S3M from 2003. This one's much better.
