After participating in this activity, the learner will demonstrate the ability to: Describe current evidence-based recommendations for screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with suspected DR with or without DME, Facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment initiation, as appropriate, for patients with DR with or without DME, Incorporate strategies that overcome barriers to ensure timely and appropriate referral to ophthalmologic specialists who can utilize treatment regimens that have been shown to improve outcomes and/or encourage regression of DR in patients with diabetes.
