I've been on YouTube since 2008 and it's time for me to leave YouTube. YouTube has been going downhill for a long time. Everyone thinks that if you want to succeed in podcasting, you must post it on YouTube too. Here's the problem. YouTube actively puts up roadblocks to your success no matter how big you are. Shadow bans, demonetization, the algorithm being random, and just the simple fact that YouTube search doesn't work. SEO doesn't matter on YouTube. It boils down to if you are new, give up. If you are already big, you can give it a try, but I've spoken with many podcasters who have great success on Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Spotify, etc. That barely get any views on YouTube. I can't even find my own show on YouTube using exact episode names, titles, everything I put in the tags. Nothing. I am just invisible logged in or using incognito. It's a joke. YouTube is a big fat joke.
