At Jackson Illuminates Everything about Skiing, we don't anoint a single ski as Ski of the Year, because such an award is ludicrous. There can't be one ski that is perfect for every skier, so we award three skis in every genre this distinction. Please note that the year's best women's skis aren't in this collection but will be revealed in the not-too-distant future. Enjoy!
I'm using my podcast platform to allow my Dear Readers to look ahead to new content that lies just over the event horizon. Realskiers.com is about a lot more than just ski reviews, as this podcast illuminates.
In the second installment of this two-part Revelation, I address how a slew of small-batch producers have become the dominant source of Powder models and what implications this has for the ski trade as a whole.
In this episode, I narrate a chapter from Snowbird Secrets, a collection of 22 meditations about the relationship between man and mountain. On Vibrations is particularly pertinent, as neither life nor skiing is possible without them. Along with light, they are the most elementary stuff in the universe. In On Vibrations, Guru Dave Powers and I explain how vibration makes skiing possible.
There are seven categories of adult skis; three of them are all but invisible in the United States. Why are Non-FIS Race, Technical and Powder models pariahs in this country, and how do they manage to stay relevant despite this handicap? Part one of a two-part series.
The very first episode of Jackson Illuminates Everything About Skiing was my first stab at a recording, and it showed. So I've recorded a fresh version of The Stump Chronicles, Part One, so shoddy production values won't detract from the entertainment. Greg Stump has had a wonderful career, both in and out of the ski movie trade. This podcast is a celebration of this Hall of Fame personality. Hope you like it.
This episode provides a detailed inspection of the incoming women's Alpine ski market and an exhaustive explanation of the efforts expended by Realskiers.com to capture its essence.
In this episode, Jackson examines the five most commercially significant Alpine ski genres, both from an historical perspective and a closer look at what's new for the coming 21/22 ski season.
Jackson takes you on a quick tour of all that's new in Alpine skis for the coming season. Jackson also explains all the details of how Realskiers.com is covering the Alpine world. This is the first podcast of the new season!
This is a chapter from Snowbird Secrets, the most important ski instruction book ever written (says its co-author with an abundance of modesty). It's an argument against importing music to the mountains, lest it block out the other music the mountain wants you to hear, the music you make when you ski.
