The government shutdown continues, with no significant developments to improve things. Sen. Thune says there can be a separate vote on healthcare subsidies, but it's unlikely to pass in both the Senate and the House. Regardless, it wouldn't happen until the government is "reopened," so for now it's just noise. Meanwhile, current arramgements have been made for military personnel to get paid in full, on time.

Allegedly to prevent leaks, a new policy required news organizations to consent to prior approval before media could report on any Pentagon related news -- and was almost universally declined by media organizations, including FOX, CBS, ABC, NBC, Newsmax, NPR, etc. He also addresses the ongoing concerns about Trump's military strikes on alleged drug boats off the coast of Venezuela, and the controversy stemming from these events.
