Justices deliberated the scope of immunity, distinctions between personal vs Presidential actions, and looked at the implications their decisions might have on future Presidencies. This decision will affect several pending trials against the former President. Meanwhile, Trump's "hush money" trial continued in NYC; it is not impacted by the issue before SCOTUS.

Alexus follows up on the sentencing trial for Patrick McDowell, after his 2021 murder of Nassau Co. Deputy Joshua Moyers. A jury voted 11-1 in favor of the death penalty, and a final sentencing date will be set. Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper made his support of the jury recommendation clear.

FOOD RECALL CONCERNS - Food recalls reached their highest level since 2020, according to a new report. U.S. Public Interest Research Group (PIRG Education Fund) found there were more than 300 food recalls in 2023, the highest since 2020. The outbreaks sickened more than 1100 people. Nicole D’Antonio join us live in Washington with details on what the report found and the top problem with food safety.

Alexus reports that the jury returned a death sentence recommendation for Patrick McDowell, for the 2021 murder of Nassau Co. Deputy Joshua Moyers. The sentence was not unanimous (11-1), but a recent change in Florida law only requires 8 jurors for a death sentence. The judge has taken the jury's recommendation into consideration, and a final sentence is pending.
