YOU DECIDE 2024 coverage continues, as the US Supreme Court will hear arguments regarding another dimension of women's health care access, specifically access and use of mifepristone, a commonly used chemical in abortion procedures. It is currently available in pill form without a prescription, and it is that availability and allegations of "medical risk" that will be argued in a petition to ban the drug being heard by SCOTUS today. Opponents of the ban challenge that it's not about risk but about installing and enforcing a draconian restriction of women's health resources and autonomy. This is the first major women's health issue to be argued before the court since the controversial Dodd decision of 2022 reversed the Roe v Wade women's health precedent. A decision from the Court in this matter is not expected before July. Women's health issues, including abortion access/restriction, are a hot topic in this year's presidential race.

Reports indicate that there were multiple vehicles on the bridge at the time of the collapse, as well as some construction workers conducting maintenance. So far, two people have been rescued from the water, as search efforts continue. There has been no update so far as to the crew status on the Singapore-flagged cargo vessel that struck the bridge.
