STUDENT PANDEMIC GRADES - A new report from the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University finds that elementary and middle school students have only made up some of the academic losses they experienced during the pandemic. The research examined academic levels between Spring of 2022 and Spring of 2023 for students in 30 states. Students recovered one third of their losses in math and one fourth of their losses in reading, but education experts say they are still not where they need to be. Gaps in achievement between high- and low-income levels are still present. Washington Correspondent Arielle Hixson examines the research and what it means for your community.
