TRANSPORTATION HEALTH EFFECTS
A new report by the CDC claims 5.7 percent of people, or more than 13 million Americans, lacked reliable transportation in 2022. The study finds a shortage of reliable transportation can negatively affect our health. Those who are older, uninsured and are part of a lower income bracket are the most at risk. Those living in New England (WFXT) were actually the least likely to lack reliable transportation. Medical experts say access to transportation has a large influence on how and when you can receive healthcare. Washington Correspondent Arielle Hixson dives through the data and explains how this study could impact your community.
