The GOP says this inquiry is about allegations of the President’s role and knowledge of his family’s business practice. This first hearing will also focus on the constitutional and legal questions Republicans are raising about President Biden. The White House is firing back on these claims. Administration officials argues this plan to hold to this hearing is a stunt to try to “distract from the alarming consequences of an extreme House GOP shutdown.”
