    Mayor Hoffman joins JMN to update us on the beach renourishment project, as each year sees significant erosion from severe weather incidents. To minimize dune damage, beachgoers are encouraged to stay on prepared paths. Additionally, she reminds us that rip currents have been getting a lot of attention and beachgoers should be educated about them for their safety. "The best lifeguard is a dry lifeguard," she says, meaning that careful swimmers don't put themselves or rescue guards in dangerous situations. This is especially important with the high volume of summer and late-summer beach tourism.
