Some progress was made over the weekend and a short term spending bill could get some attention today. A group of republicans have hammered out a deal but already some other republicans aren’t supporting it. And Democrats in the Senate aren’t expected to go for it. So that could leave right back to no deal and could inch us closer to a government shutdown. We’ll break down where everything stands. WHY IT MATTERS: Hundreds of thousands of federal jobs could be furloughed without pay if we hit a government shutdown. Lawmakers will try again today to get everyone on the same page.
