More AI researchers are speaking publicly about something we cannot ignore.

Former OpenAI and Anthropic employees are warning that AI development may be moving faster than safety, governance, and public understanding.

That does not mean humanity is doomed.

It means we need more people building. Not just billion-dollar labs.

Us.

Writers. Creators. Educators. Mothers. Consultants. Small business owners.

People who actually understand human needs outside Silicon Valley.

If powerful technology is going to shape our future, we cannot sit around waiting for someone else to decide what that future looks like.

Here are three things we need to do now:

* Create independent knowledge.

Write. Teach. Document ideas. Build platforms that help people think critically instead of depending on algorithms to tell them what to believe.

* Build businesses around human value.

Use AI to help organize, research, create, and sell. But keep relationships, judgment, trust, and original thinking at the center of the business.

* Build new systems.

We need better ways to manage our knowledge, income, communities, education, and work. Technology should increase human capability, not replace human participation.

That is the work I am focused on.

Immersion is deep, repeated involvement in a subject, skill, or environment.

It means you spend enough time studying, practicing, observing, and applying something that you begin to understand it beyond the surface.

* reviewing performance

* testing ideas

* learning the platform

* improving your judgment

Immersion is not just consuming information.

It is active exposure plus practice.

in the book, “the greatest power in the universe” by uell andersen, he led a goal achievement seminar with 100 salespeople. they concentrated on all the things they wanted to get done OR SEE done sometime in the future, whether it was 2 hours from now, let alone 2 years from now...

the book said, you couldn’t IMAGINE the CONSTERNATION (def. sudden worry, confusion, or distress) that it caused these folks.

they sat there with their pencils, pens, sweating and just lost - this cause of mental paralysis was their feeling that they were being required to predict the future instead of just making it up.

2 days left until this special is gone! (this goes for monthly and yearly) - celebrating 43 years on this side of time (my birthday was june 27th!)

the fact that anyone could possibly make their own future was so foreign to them. they thought an artist drawing a painting or a composer making a song in comparison to them writing goals was so unfair because they were being challenged to make up something "that was real".

Uell told them, “the future isn’t real yet. it has to be made up.”the people started complaining "that isn't always true though! the future isn't always what we think it's gonna be, it's usually inside."Uell goes to end this story with — "the ONLY people who are surprised by the future are the people who don't make it up". replace the salespeople with your name. make it up. decide who you're gonna be, then commit to the decision.

the future you make up and live out are a series of decisions that you stuck to per the way you see your worth in it.

Choose one major change your family needs to understand, such as AI, synthetic media, online fraud, work disruption, rising costs, or digital privacy.

Write your explanation using these five prompts:

* What is actually happening?State only what can currently be verified.

* What remains uncertain?Separate predictions from established facts.

* Why is this happening?Name the systems, incentives, behaviors, or technologies involved.

* How could this affect our household?Be specific without assuming the worst outcome.

* What can we do now?Choose one immediate action and one skill to build over the next 90 days.

The standard is not whether the conversation feels comfortable.
