I met Jake when he was 12 or 13 years old as he was a mutual family friend here in South Florida. He was a nice kid, smart and very gifted athlete in many sports. While I heard he had excelled in life and heard through others about his sports career in high school/college, I lost track of how far he had taken his sports career until running into him at the airport. He had just left the Chicago Bears camp after tryouts and was heading to the Miami Dolphins as a free agent. I was blown away and asked him to come on the show when he was back in town visiting his parents.
So grateful he did because he has a great story about putting in the work, never giving up and that if you want something and know where you want to go, there are no excuses. He battled for a spot on the Vikings and overcame an almost career ending injury and the pandemic. While he's a free agent right now his routine and structure are very dialed in, ready to go at any time if the chance presents itself. He has the drive to keep playing while also preparing for life after the NFL. He is passionate about working with others in the health and exercise field, has explored working with his brother in the real estate market and is open to anything that comes his way.
He believes in getting and starting each day with little wins like making your bed and getting the body moving to set himself up for success. You can follow his journey and contact him on instagram @jbargas22 or twitter @jbargas22. We hope you enjoy the show!
