What exactly did Jesus mean when He called His followers "salt of the earth?" What does that look like for us today?

As followers of Christ, Paul writes that we are Jesus' ambassadors here on earth. Are we doing a good job at representing Him?

A lot of people, especially Christians, get really caught up in right versus wrong, good versus bad. Is that missing the point of the cross? Could God want us to focus on something deeper?
