Connect Over Coffee

Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee and Guest Blake Widmer of Deaf Can! Coffee

Listen Later

Today is the first part of a two-part interview with Blake Widmer of Deaf Can! Coffee in Jamaica. Through coffee they carry on the legacy of Everlin Clarke, a deaf coffee farmer whose deep conviction that his deafness was a gift from God and that he could help change the world inspired students from the Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf. Since meeting Everlin and brewing their first cups of coffee, they’ve built a thriving enterprise and have become champion baristas, consistently winning top honors at the Blue Mountain Coffee Festival.

In this interview, you’ll learn:

  • How a downcast group of students were transformed into champion baristas
  • How a small idea was built into a successful enterprise
  • The message these baristas want to share with the world
