James 5: 19-20 - Loving The Wanderer

Listen Later

the truth and is brought back, (20) you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.

Review:

Confess your sins to each other, and pray for each other so that you may be healed. This was last week's message. This week is when someone is not confessing and they should be.  :)

ASK: Why would someone wander from the truth?

  1. They do NOTHING…that’s right... their life is not changed one bit, they stop obeying = backslide
  2. Sin, they don’t want to stop, because they like it more than living upright  moral lives.
  3. Hard times, persecution (seed sown in rocky soil) - MT 13
  4. They don’t fully grasp it, they don’t understand, and I think they don’t get the big picture of what life is meant to be. Garden of Eden- relationship with God.  (seed sown along the path)
  5. Enticements of the world crowd out and take the place of Jesus (seed sown among thorns), things of this world are more important than Jesus.

Disappointment that leads to “maybe it’s just not worth it”
