The Titanic is sinking, Jack is handcuffed to a pipe and Rose becomes a classic James Cameron female action hero! In this episode we discuss some technical goofs, share a hilarious scene-relevant meme, address the "JACK!" and "ROSE!" of it all, and discover a poetic revelation or two. We also pick apart and laugh hysterically over some absolutely bonkers deleted lines of dialogue. This movie is a masterpiece, but it COULD'VE gone so very wrong. This is a fun one!!!

Before we start covering the scenes again in real time, Brittany and Ethan from nearly two years ago have an episode for you! Crazy that we've sat on this one for so long, but now we're finally able to share it!
In this episode we feature and answer our first voice message, discuss the launch of the first lifeboats, controversy surrounding the third class passengers being kept behind gates, set-ups and payoffs, more decision-making for Rose and her forever legendary retort "I'd rather be his whore than your wife."
We'll return two years older and wiser in the next scene. ;)

Here's a very special episode for you all as we make our return to the podcast! We were lucky enough to sit down with actress Alexandra Boyd who portrayed a first class woman in TITANIC!!! She was so lovely and told us all about her experience working on the film, being directed by James Cameron, and what it's like to be part of such a pop culture phenomenon! Huge thank you to Alexandra for being so kind and guesting on the podcast! We hope you enjoy our interview/conversation with her. (Official "welcome back/catch up/theatrical re-release review" episode to follow!)

As we officially cross over to the second VHS tape, we discuss what is essentially the beginning of the end. This episode covers more class differences, a few payoffs, some potentially unnecessary added drama, and the moment Mr. Andrews tells us Titanic's fate.

We've finally made it to the (literal) turning point of the movie! We talk all about the Californian deleted scene, "fate and freewill, predestination and human choice," and of course... the iceberg sequence. We also break down the clever way music is utilized in this vital scene!

LOL, byeeeee!
We brought Liz back to discuss her favorite scene (Jack & Rose running away from Lovejoy) while Ethan was recovering from the flu. This scene also includes an interesting conversation between Captain Smith and Officer Lightoller. We discuss a buuuunch of things here like how nice it is to be reminded that people actually had fun in the early 1900s, Titanic's continued popularity among young people, deleted scenes... and we somehow manage to get slightly morbid... again. We can't help it. We also take a moment to celebrate the one-year anniversary of this podcast! Yay! Thanks so much for listening.

After a random (but related) tangent about war movies and Dunkirk in relation to the kind of movie Titanic is, we jump into another iconic scene... The Drawing! We somehow ended up talking a little about the sinking too before analyzing the scene. There's a lot of interesting stuff here when it comes to Jack and Rose's dynamic, fun facts and more.
