“You got to do or do not there is no trying to get out there and do it. You're talking about the thing you're going to do or one day I'm going to go, it never happens. Just go do it. And just, it's not a failure if you're going to mess up. And that's the whole point. You're figuring out what you and what you're doing. So just get out there and do it. Try it. Do it, don't try it.”
“Life is better when you got a roof over your head. Why do you get your brakes fixed on your car? because life is better when our brakes work versus when our brakes don't work. And so business, if you want to flip the table, you want people to spend money with you. It's how do you make somebody else's life better, and make it so darn valuable.”
“I would say take action earlier. Like I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur ever since I graduated college, like I wanted to be a medical device sales. But I really did want to be an entrepreneur, I just was so scared of failing, that I didn't want to take a chance going back. I'm grateful for everything that I've done. I'm grateful for being in corporate America working in medical device sales. I truly do believe that it happened for a reason. But I would also be interested to know specifically where I would be at today, if I would have started 10 years ago.”
“Leaders often try to protect their teams and try to help them a lot. And your job is to get the best ideas out of the team. So instead of coming in, saying, “I had this great idea” you can say, “hey, I had this thought that we could be doing a better job here in this situation” talk about that, you know, what do people think, and then say, okay, great!
“Don't be afraid to volunteer for anything. No matter what you're doing, how you're doing it. And the other is, let's help each other and let's, let's keep our world a friendly and fun place.”
“If you're passionate about something, pursue that passion and follow it to the nth degree. And in that process, remember to be patient with yourself while you're learning.”
“You can't necessarily say you know what you need to build, or what you what the technology needs to be or what the solution is, or anything without some sort of data to back it up, whether that's research or market data, or asking customers and then use that data as the foundation to make decisions on your business or technology.”
"I want to learn more about people who are a success. I want to find patterns. And I'll tell you right now, after interviewing hundreds of people, I found that the main thing that pushes and motivates most of these people on my show who are so successful is grit, passion and perseverance."
“What I love about my job is I love storytelling. I love to hear my own voice shamelessly. But at the same time, it's creating that story is really creative. And you get to get into this abstract creative world. And a lot of people don't think that scientists are super abstract, but absolutely, we are. because it's all about imagining the unimaginable.”
“It was definitely not a linear path from mechanical to aerodynamics and aerospace to additive manufacturing. I think just a willingness to talk to people, listen to experts in different fields, see what opportunities are out there and where you can make an impact”
