That's right! Joining the show is Renegade's Community Coordinator: William Wellman. Turns out William does a little of everything, from design to organized play to Lore (a lot of Lore). This episode has it all, so buckle up kids, this one is going to take awhile...
Gordon and Ken initially reflect on their recent Gen Con 2026 experience and then close out the show with some Gen Con interviews: Renegade Games President Scott Gaeta, Heroscape's original designer Craig Van Ness, finalist Tommy "Megasilver" Adams, and our new World Champion Alex "Al Bot" Gigler.
Gordon and Ken reflect on their time at ScapeCon VI and discuss the upcoming Gen Con -- but the majority of the episode is dedicated towards the interviews recorded at ScapeCon with some of the attendees, including Alex Davy and Dyllan Fernandez of Renegade Games, with SC6 being their first ScapeCon!
There are soooo many ways to play Heroscape and in the opinion of one of the hosts -- take a guess who -- it's the game's greatest strength. Turns out the guest for this episode agrees. Ken and Gordon chat with Ben "Earl of Sandwich" Lostocco, ScapeCon's Event Designer these past few years.
Format is King
Everyone knows that maps play an important part inHeroscape. It's the first thing someone notices when walking by if they've never seen a game of Heroscape before, and experienced players will tell you how and why the map can affect a match.
But making a good map isn't easy. Mapmakers Gamebear andFlash_19 join the 'cast to share their insights. Find out the differences between maps from over 15 years ago versus maps made today, how terrain sets play a part, and what are their goals when making them.

Last month we explored a casual player's perpsective. Now we do the opposite and get Isaac's thoughts on what it's like to be a Heroscape organizer. So tune for some dad jokes and another three hour tour...a three hour tour (bonus points if you're young and still get that reference).
Gordon and Ken interview Derek "Vecna" Haddock to get a better understanding of what casual play means to him.
Drinking game suggestion: Take a drink each time one of the hosts says "So..." On second thought, don't do that; you'll pass out long before you finish the episode.
Audio: Gordon gets a new microphone and it tested great. What happened??? Only so much can be done in post to clean it up. Sigh...it continues to be a work in progress.
