There seems to be a design or software flaw in the Nikon Z8 that prevents live video from being displayed on an external
monitor with an HDMI cable. This is a serious problem for anyone who wants to use the Z8 to record professional quality video. Nikon’s marketing for the Z8 really sells the video potential of the camera but Nikon needs to address this critical flaw right away. Fix it.
