Janie's early life was moulded by abuse & feelings of abandonment which resulted in her leaving home at 15. She tried telling those close to her & the authorities, but it seemed no-one would listen or take her seriously. And in one instance, one of those authority figures took advantage of her vulnerabilities. But she never gave up. She is now a fierce protector of those who find themselves in a similar position to her as a young child/teenager & her lived experience gives her an intimate understanding of their struggles.
