  • Eliphaz’s words make matters worse for Job. He is convinced Job’s circumstance is the result of sin. He believes Job should make his case to God, allow God to expose his sin, and be restored.
  • It is tiresome to read Eliphaz’s advice based on his own life experience and supposed mystical encounter with a spirit, but his arrogant testimony about God’s character serves as a warning to anyone wanting to teach others about God without a knowledge of God.
  • Job defends himself before his friend’s accusation and pleads with God to end his suffering. He admits he spoke at first impulsively, and he fails to emerge from impulsiveness!
