In today’s reading of Tyndale’s OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),
The dialogue between Job and his friends escalates into a full-blown theological argument. Like many theological arguments, this debate digresses into a competition to prove who is wiser.
Remember that at the beginning of this story, God calls Job His servant. At the end of the story, God will call Job His servant. Yet, Job is unaware of what is really happening. He is forced to by faith navigate his friends accusations and theological frameworks. Job’s response to Bildad works out and considers the god his friends have imagined. He accurately breaks down the error in their arguments while continuing to speak from an anguishing heart.
