In today’s reading of Tyndale’s OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),
God designed mankind in His image to live in a faith relationship with Him according to His design. God created this faith relationship by: Giving instructions to obeyPromises to believe And boundaries to trust Even though God had commanded Noah to "be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth," And although Noah would have passed this instruction on to the next generations Although God provided a promise to never destroy the earth by flood againHe established a picture of this promise by placing a rainbow in the sky at the conclusion of every rainfallThe people decide to take on the greatest flood insurance project in human history. 10 generations from Noah, God calls Abraham out of a family of idol worshipers to learn to walk with Him by faith. Abraham's story teaches us that faith is a process. Scripture does not sanitize his story so we get to see how God responds to him when he obeys by faith and when he schemes according to his own desires.
