In recent years, religions seem to be facing an issue to become a thing of the past globally. On the other hand, there is a huge demand for mindfulness in the stressful society as well. There is one team in Kyoto city that has announced that they have developed an artificial intelligence (AI) that can learn Buddhist scriptures and might be able to solve people's problems. 　

The aim is to make the teachings of Buddhism more accessible. The team is planning to improve the bot and make it available to the public. Let’s see if Mr. Kumagai, who is an associate professor of Buddhist studies at Kyoto University, and his team can unbox Japan.

Social Withdrawal called HIKIKOMORI in Japanese has been a problem in Japan for at least 30 years or so. Most of them are younger adults who were withdrawn from society for various reasons and do not or cannot go to work and stay home most of the time while having their elder parents take care of them. Nowadays it has become a long-term problem so that their parents are too old to take care, and with no income. It is difficult for them to seek care or advice from outside, and they have become isolated from society. In some cases, it ends up killing themselves. There is an article about one man who used to withdraw for 14 years but became active because of UberEats. In the show, a team of producers and a camera crew travel places in Japan to ask people to show their lunches. The episode always includes surprises and small heartwarming dramas.
