In today's age, it's easy to fall into the trap of chasing fame, likes and followers in the hope it brings us some form of satisfaction and happiness. It doesn't matter how known we become, if we haven't come into the glance of the One, all of it is a waste. 

Becoming self aware of our feelings when we come to know that we have been slandered will help us to know if we are resisting God, or if we are allowing ourself to be in the glance of God and the nature of love and compassion. Being in the company of those that are virtuous can help us to experience those very virtues within ourself. When we realise that we are bound by the One's divine will and cannot escape that, we start to step away from the multiple layers of ego that we are stuck in. Having this realisation is our doorway to liberation.

Whilst being identified with the ego and being separated from the truth, we continue to remain bound to our karmic load (past experiences). The only way to break this cycle is to receive Vaheguru Ji's (God's) grace. To receive this grace, we have to play to the game that the Creator has created.
