2016 Breakout From Good To Great – Obedience and Humility to Christ’s Vision

1. He gives more Grace to the humble - Obedience & submission is all humility

James 4:6 “God resists the proud, but gives more grace to the humble...” 

1 Samuel 15:16-19 Samuel said to Saul, “Be quiet! And I will tell you what the Lord said to me last night. 17 “When you were little in your own eyes, were you not Leader of Israel? 18 Now the Lord sent you on a mission 19 Why then did you not obey the Mission of the Lord? #savingsouls #makingdisciplesHumble, small in your own eyes – low to the ground, low estate, lowly in position and power, total absence of arrogance, conceit, and haughtiness.

Obey – Hearing, responding and obeying, to hear as a subordinate, listen attentively, answer and respond, submit without reservation. 

1 Peter 5:4-6 Likewise, you younger men [of lesser rank and experience], be subject to your elders [seek their counsel]; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another [tie on the servant’s apron], for God is opposed to the proud and He defeats them, but He gives grace to the humble. 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time.

Matthew 23:11 the greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs  29:23 A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble will retain honor.

Deuteronomy 8:11-19 “Beware that you don’t forget the Lord your God by not obeying Him 12 lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; 13 and when all that you have is multiplied; 14 that your heart is lifted up with pride, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out the house of bondage (never forget where you came from)
