TMJD stands for temporomandibular joint dysfunction. This can occur when your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is damaged or misaligned.
Where is it? Your TMJ connects your jawbone to your skull. It’s located near your ear.
Why does it happen? It can be difficult to figure out exactly why this happens. Genetics, jaw injury, arthritis, or damage, like from grinding teeth, can all lead to TMJD.
How is it fixed? Dr. Lamarche has taken special training that can help correct the misalignment in the neck or jaw area, as well as provide therapeutic exercises.
