Today’s episode of The Strands That Bind Us we have one of the most innovative fashion/editorial hairstylists of our time.

Jawara and Matthew met 3 years ago in a tiny farmhouse hotel 3 hours outside of London, working on a new dyson hair tool launch, and instantly hit it off.

Jawara was just announced as the senior at large beauty editor for ID MAGAZINE and works with celebrities like Cardi B, FKA twigs, Beyoncé, solange and countless others. 

He has had one of the most unique journeys through hair, from growing up in Kingston Jamaica immersed in a family filled with reggae royalty to gracing the pages of Vogue, Dazed, ID magazine, and working with brands like Hermes, Chanel, off white, and Gucci. 

 Today we will walk through his humble beginnings, how he learned community, and his determination that skyrocketed him to where he is now.
