Today we dive into the Anbernic RG34XXSP, a clamshell handheld that channels the Game Boy Advance SP’s “special” design. Priced at $60 and shipping from a U.S. warehouse starting May 16, it adds dual recessed thumbsticks under the D-pad and face buttons. It runs Game Boy through Sega Game Gear flawlessly, and can handle select Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast titles.

Available in four colors—including classic GameCube purple and banana yellow—it comes with 64GB of pre-loaded emulators and games, plus room for a microSD card. Compared to its RG35XXSP sibling, the RG34XXSP doubles the RAM to 2GB, while both use an H700 quad-core ARM processor. The 3.4-inch, 720×480 screen’s 3:2 aspect ratio can make later 4:3 games look squashed. As Retro Game Corps’ Russ Crandall notes, “that’s less of a problem” on other models—though they lack joysticks.

Typical task completion takes “between 1 and 30 minutes,” depending on complexity, and every step is fully auditable through terminal logs and test outputs. The code runs in an isolated environment before you integrate it locally or push to GitHub. While Codex promises to turbocharge development, it also raises tough questions about the future of software jobs: why pay a senior engineer when a junior plus Codex could deliver polished code? OpenAI says it has built-in safeguards to refuse malicious requests, though details remain scarce. Codex is now in research preview and free for ChatGPT Pro, Enterprise, and Team subscribers, with broader access and pricing tiers coming soon.

Welcome back to Torque Test Insights. Today we’re diving into why it took 65 years to revolutionize the humble socket extension. Believe it or not, the design that’s been a staple in every toolbox since the 1950s remained virtually untouched—until now.

In the video “Why it Took 65 Years to Make a New Socket Extension,” host Adam Johnson explains that engineers long struggled to balance strength, reach, and ease of use. Traditional extensions were “simple and durable,” but they couldn’t adapt to tight engine bays or odd angles. Attempts at telescoping shafts and flexible joints either broke under stress or added too much complexity.

After decades of dead ends, a team of tool designers applied modern materials and finite-element analysis to engineer a hybrid extension that bends when you need it and locks rigid under torque. As one project lead puts it, “We’ve finally found the sweet spot between flexibility and toughness.”

That breakthrough lets mechanics slip a socket around an awkward bolt without juggling multiple tools. It’s a small change, but it promises big time savings on every job.

Hello and welcome to Linux Quick Tips, brought to you by Tom’s Hardware. No matter how big your storage drive, you need to see how much space you’ve used and what’s filling it up. From the GUI you get some info, but in the terminal you get more detail. Let’s start with the df command. Just type df to list all drives, including physical partitions under /dev/. To make the output “human readable,” add -h. For example, df -h shows sizes in megabytes and gigabytes. You can even target specific filesystems or drives, for example df -ht ext4. Next, the du command helps you inspect individual directories. du -h lists sizes in human readable format, and du -hs gives just the total directory size. Combine these deceptively simple but immensely powerful tools to monitor your disk usage on any Linux machine, from Raspberry Pi to remote servers. That’s all for today’s quick tip!
