Despite heavy downpour, retired police officers under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) on Monday staged a peaceful protest nationwide calling on the Federal Government to exempt the Nigeria Police Force from the controversial pension scheme.
The retirees, carried placards and sang solidarity songs, urging President Bola Tinubu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), and other stakeholders to address their plight.
They expressed deep frustration over the IGP’s alleged indifference, despite numerous representations and engagements with the National Assembly

Killings: In response to the killings of the 27 innocent citizens who were asleep in the Bidi (Jebu) part of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang paid a courtesy visit seeking the release of the youths who were arrested in Riyom LGA.
The governor took a tour to Riyom LGA to share in the pains of the people, the visit also came with words of encouragement and reassurance of government immediate and possible actions to help end this menace. The people seek for the sack of Lt Col, Thomas Paave who is the STF commander in Riyom.

iyom Killing: The pockets of killings in Riyom LGA has taken another turn as over 20 people were killed in N early morning attack yesterday in Bidin Tahoss village.
Stakeholders including the former minority leader of the Nigerian Senate 10th Assembly, Sen Simon Mwadkwon has expressed his displeasure over the statement made by the STF sector commander, Lt Col, Pavwei who mentioned that the armed herdsmen blocked his men on their way to rescue the people, this very statement a lot have described as baseless and empty.
The killings in Riyom have been consistent just like every other LGAs on the Plateau.
How can this menace be brought to an end?
