Welcome back to the Jays Nest Podcast. First thing you'll notice is that we have a shiny new logo. After a couple iterations, we like this one so much that it'll be the one we stick with. This week, Jays From the Couch brings you Ep 55 of our weekly Blue Jays talk. As always, we welcome Keegan for another great hour of discussion. This week, we look at the fallout of the Drew Storen Trade, ownership, contract extensions and more. Check us out at www.JaysFromtheCouch.com & on Twitter @JaysFromCouch
This week's episode of the Jays Nest Podcast brings you your usual weekly chat between myself and my co-host, Keegan Matheson who is now Senior Editor at Jays Journal. Oddly, in a quiet time, there were a number of points for discussion in this episode. From manager, John Gibbons', contract option for 2017 triggered to fluff rumors of two sluggers catching the eye of Bean Town, there is definitely some good discussion to be had. But, the highlight is the idea of there being pressure on club management as they head into the 2016 season. We also took a reader question. This episode of the Jays' Nest Podcast features some reflection on the year that was for the Toronto Blue Jays and a look ahead at some resolutions. We take some questions about the future of the club, both immediate and distant. There is also big announcement about Shaun's new project. He will be leaving Jays Journal to pursue his own site: JaysFromtheCouch.com, which will go live on Jan 1! It won't impact the podcast, though. Keegan and Shaun will still get together for your weekly Blue Jays chats.
Episode 52 of the Jays' Nest Podcast features some great discussion about recent (not very exciting) roster moves from the Toronto Blue Jays. The moves are more about providing depth in the organization and fielding a team at the AAA level. We had some holiday fun with a look in at players' holiday fun and what they'd ask Santa for. We also create a game called "Guess the Alias". This week's reader questions look at the possibility of trading some big bats a possible target and our wish list. Episode 51 of the Jays' Nest Podcast brings you a frustrated rant from yours truly as the Toronto Blue Jays have been fairly quite this winter. It is a common theme among some fans as they wonder just how the club will defend its AL East title with the offseason they've had. But, this isn't just any old rant. The discussion gets at the root of frustrations. We talk bullpen and much more, including the Greatest Blue Jays of All Time. Check us out at www.jaysjournal.com & @JaysJournal
Episode 50 of the Jays' Nest Podcast is a good one! Not only does it share the same number as legendary Blue Jays closer, Tom Henke, it features some great discussion in what seemed like a very busy week for the Toronto Blue Jays. While not many major moves happened, there were still plenty of discussion points. We look at the latest news, we react to meeting the new GM, the state of pitching and we say goodbye to David Price. Check us out at www,jaysjournal.com & @JaysJournal
Episode #49 of the Jays' Nest Podcast brings you the fallout discussion from J.A. Happ returning to the Blue Jays on a 3 year deal. After introducing Jays' Nest Theatre, we sift through the initial anger and frustration from Blue Jays fans to evaluate the deal on its merits. We discuss the impact this deal will have on the rest of the pitching staff both in the rotation and the bullpen. We take some reader questions and sit down with Jason Rollison of RumBunter.com who do a great job of covering the Pittsburgh Pirates. We asked him for his perspective on the Happ deal. Episode #48 of the Jays' Nest Podcast brings you great discussion about the Toronto Blue Jays. This week, we dive into some rumors that have come up about the future of a certain ace, news of some minor league signings and we examine a recent trade that landed the Blue Jays Jesse Chavez. After dismissing the notion of moving Troy Tulowitzki to first base, we then go through the Jays Journal 2015 Season Awards. We wrap up with some reader/ listener questions. Check us out at www.jaysjournal.com & @JaysJournal
Episode #47 of the Jays' Nest Podcast comes to you at a time where there isn't a whole lot in the way of news surrounding your Toronto Blue Jays. But, just because there are no big trades or free agent signings, doesn't mean there is nothing to talk about. We look at the Marco Estrada signing, a possible extension for an MVP and we discuss a couple guys who've caught our attention in the Arizona Fall League. Plus, we take some reader questions! Check us out at www.jaysjournal.com & @JaysJournal
We have a great episode of the Jays' Nest Podcast for you with #46! This week, we talk about the start of the Blue Jays offseason and sit down for a great chat with minor leaguer, Taylor Cole!
Topics include: Rumors, Payroll, Free Agents and Starting Pitching. We tackle a couple Reader Questions that look at a possible big trade and some free agent targets. Follow us at www.JaysJournal.com where we roll out our Offseason Tracker & @JaysJournal
